What makes this different from any other weight loss scheme?
This is NOT an exercise program; in fact the only muscle that really gets used during the workshops is your brain. Many weight loss programs try and change your body directly – which is NOT effective for long-term success. As psychologists, we aim to change the way in which you THINK, FEEL and DO so that you can then go and make the changes for yourself. Of course we'll give you a hand along the way but we don't do it for you.
Do I have to be overweight? Is there a “weigh in”?
No. The mental skills we introduce are all about the process of weight control and NOT the outcome (the read out of a set of scales) so they are as applicable to those wanting to lose lots of weight as those wanting to lose a bit. There is no weigh in. In fact one of the mental skills involves learning that weight is a poor progress indicator.
Are your psychologists regulated and qualified?
Yes. Each workshop is run by one of our hand picked registered psychologists with training and experience in the area. Furthermore, all are members of the Australian Psychological Society and registered with the NSW Psychologist's Registration Board.
Can I speak to someone who has done the course?
Unfortunately not, due to the confidentiality regulations of psychologists. However, take a look at our testimonials page for some reason comments submitted by Condor Clients.

Can I contact my group's psychologist between and after the program?
Yes. Once you've done one of our weight control programs, you're a Condor Client forever meaning we continue to provide individual email and phone support to current and former clients.
Tell me more about the techniques that are introduced throughout the programs?
The techniques used all fall under the term Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). The CBT skills that make up our 4 weight control solutions target negative thoughts, actions and feelings and are all based on good scientific evidence, not guesswork – that's why they work.
Am I guaranteed to lose weight?
No. If you hope that doing one of our programs will magically help you lose weight then you'll be disappointed. In fact one of the areas we work on is helping you realise that there are no short cuts. Learning to control your weight, especially at the beginning, is a difficult process. However the good news is the harder your try and the more you focus during the course, the better your results will be.
Can I claim the course fee back from my health fund?
We are a registered ancillary health provider with a number of leading health funds. The amount you will be able to claim back depends on which health fund you belong to and what level of cover you have.
